Little Ladybirds

At Abbey Nursery, the Little Ladybird playrooms have a homely atmosphere with comfortable cots and prams, rocking chairs, comfy sofa and lots of soft cushions. The rooms are bright and extremely well equipped with lots of resources to excite, engage and develop exploration and discovery skills throughout the day. Practitioners also organise daily arts and sensory experiences for the children in small groups and there are always those 'treasured pictures' for parents to take home at the end of the week.

Our sensory room is a wonderful relaxing space for new children when first settling into the nursery and for those special 'quiet moments', whilst sleep time is calm and peaceful with individual sleep cots/mats and subdued lighting.  When full of energy children are pleased to have a designated, secure outdoor area for play which is fully covered and can be used all year round. Added to this are lots of opportunities for singing, dancing, messy and water play and taking advantage of walks around the local community.

The staff to children ratio for babies is one:three and your child will have their own 'key worker' who will be their primary carer whilst at nursery. Staff in the baby room follow parents wishes with regard to feeding, sleep times, etc and are always flexible and accommodating.  When you first settle into nursery we make a point of obtaining as much information from you about your child for their 'Care Plan' to ensure that baby's individual needs are met. Daily feedback (verbally and through an online app) is given to parents at home time.

The nursery follows the Pre Birth to Three, Building the Ambition and Getting It Right for Every Child guidance in working closely with parents to provide the best possible care and development for every child.
